The Uninvited

Hello cancer I have been told you have arrived

I didn’t invite you but inside me you started your insidious work

Invisible but lethal where are you now. How dare you rudely interrupt my life

No good can come of you, only pain, heartache & grief

If I whisper this tumour might not hear me. My surgeon hails its removal with glee

Lord, let it go, let me be and may the uninvited never return
